Mission:
Improving the lives of companion animals by providing adoption, education, and support.
The Riley County Humane Society is a private 501(c) (3) non-profit organization that receives no federal, state, or local funding and relies solely on private donations and volunteers to advance its mission. The Humane Society places hundreds of cats and dogs in new homes, altered hundreds of pets, and provide spay/neuter assistance to low-income members of the community thereby preventing thousands of unwanted animal births. Around 75-100 animals are safe with us in foster care at any given time. Approximately 3-4 million cats and dogs are euthanized in the U.S. each year; for every human born in Riley County, 15 dogs and 45 cats are born. There simply aren't enough homes for all these animals.
